Biographical data

He entered the order on June 4, 1948, and took his final vows in secret on December 8, 1959. In 1970, he left the country with the abbot’s permission and state authorization. Since the state did not recognize the status of monks who had not been ordained as priests, after leaving the country he had to have the validity of his vows recognized separately by the Holy See. After this was done, he transferred his residence to the São Paulo monastery on December 4, 1970. He completed his theological studies and was ordained a priest in Brazil on July 27, 1976. He has been retired since 1992.
