Biographical data
He graduated from high school in Debrecen and then completed his theological studies in Subotica. On July 13, 1886, he was ordained a priest as a Franciscan friar in Vác. In 1888, he left the order and became a diocesan priest in Košice. In 1899, he arrived in the United States at the invitation of Károly Böhm. In 1912, members of the Daughters of the Divine Savior religious order arrived at his invitation to educate Hungarian children. In 1925, he received the Red Cross Medal of Merit for his charitable work on behalf of the Hungarian community. The cause of his death was heart failure. According to records, he was a sudden, impetuous man.
