Biographical data
His mother’s name was Julianna Szokoly. He entered the order on August 6, 1934, and took his solemn vows on August 15, 1938. He was ordained a priest on September 11, 1938. He earned a teaching degree in Latin and Hungarian, and in 1939–1940, he obtained a licentiate in theology from Charles University in Prague. Around 1951, he earned a master’s degree in education in Cleveland, OH. He served as secretary-general of the National Committee of Hungarians in Czechoslovakia and was one of the organizers and supporters of the Rákóczi Association in Budapest and Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He returned home in 1994 and lived in Pannonhalma until his death. In 1998, he received the Hungarian Heritage Award. He is buried in Pannonhalma. A statue was erected in his memory in his hometown.
