Biographical data
His parents were Lajos Likó and Erzsébet Szabó. He entered the order on May 26, 1944. He took his first vows on May 27, 1945. From 1945 to 1948, he studied theology at the Order’s college in Zirc. He left Zirc on September 18, 1948, with the intention of defecting, and by November 2, 1948, he was definitely in Fribourg. He took his perpetual vows at the Cistercian monastery on the Île de Lérins in France. He was ordained a priest on October 16, 1949, by Cardinal Achille Liénart, Bishop of Lille. He arrived in the United States in 1952, and at an unknown date announced his intention to leave the order and become a diocesan priest; however, the formalities for this transfer were never completed before his death. He died under unclear circumstances (according to some accounts, by suicide) while traveling in Switzerland between July 15 and 18, 1966.
