His parents were Jenő Piribauer, a master miller, and Etelka Varga. He spent the first six years of his high school studies in Pécs and the last two at the Cistercian monastery in Eger. He entered the Cistercian Order on August 14, 1917. He took his first vows on July 20, 1921. He completed his theological studies at the Order’s college in Zirc and earned his degree in Hungarian and history from Pázmány Péter Royal University. He took his perpetual vows on July 12, 1924. He was ordained a priest on July 20, 1924, by Apostolic Nuncio Lorenzo Schioppa. He was an archaeologist. In 1925, with the involvement of Dr. Ervin Pálos, he began excavating the Eger Castle, a project carried out with very little funding but all the more dedication and enthusiasm until 1934. In addition to the excavations at Eger—with financial support from the British Museum—he undertook and led research in the Bükk Mountains to trace the footsteps of the Magdalenian prehistoric people. In 1973 (according to Diós, between 1970 and 1973), his students helped him organize a trip to the United States, where he lived for a time at the Cistercian Abbey in Dallas. On his way home, he fell ill at Ferihegy Airport and passed away after being transported to the hospital.
