Biographical data
He was a student at the Pannonhalma Benedictine High School and studied theology in Győr. He was ordained a priest in Veszprém on June 21, 1979. In 1983, intending to enter religious life, he left for abroad and entered the novitiate of the Order of Mercy in Graz. In 1984, he joined the St. Stephen Custody of the Franciscans living in the United States. He took his solemn vows in 1988. Since the dissolution of the Custody, he has been a member of the Franciscan Province named after King St. Stephen (Transylvania). Since 2013, he has been the recipient of the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit. He received this honor for his work in community building, preserving and cataloging the Mindszenty legacy, and his efforts to preserve the sense of identity among Hungarian Americans.
