He had intended to train as a skilled worker in the United States, but instead entered a religious order there in 1932 and was ordained a priest on July 1, 1938. He completed his studies in Hungary.
According to records, “he was rough around the edges, but he had a heart of gold.”
During his time serving in New Brunswick, he paid off the parish’s debt and had the church renovated inside and out. He established the Franciscan Third Order.
He died of kidney disease. His grave is in New Brunswick, NJ.
