Biographical data
His father’s name was György Horváth, and his mother’s name was Róza Hanzek. He was ordained a priest on June 27, 1906. In 1913, he received permission to take up a position as assistant pastor at the Bridgeport parish in the United States to nurture the religious life and Hungarian identity of Catholic Slovenians who had emigrated there. He spoke Slovenian, English, and German. He was the founding president of the American Hungarian Catholic League.
