His mother’s name was Teréz Gombik. He attended high school in Budapest and entered the Servite Order in 1927. He completed his novitiate at Monte Berico, Italy. He took his final vows on October 31, 1931. He was ordained a priest on July 8, 1934. He completed his studies in Rome, earning a doctorate in philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in theology. He was a member of the Hungarian section of the International Marian Congress. He served as postulator for the beatification of István Kaszap in 1948. From 1971 onward, he was a member of the Austrian Province of the Order.
