Biographical data
He completed his seminary studies in Vác, where he was ordained a priest on October 16, 1887. He likely emigrated to the United States around 1901, after being excommunicated—according to some sources—around that time for publishing a spiritualist journal and being involved in several frauds; for which he was sentenced to prison but fled before the trial.
In America, he wanted to establish a bank and adopted the alias Károly Hollós; he presented himself to Károly Böhm, the parish priest in Cleveland, as a missionary priest, and there he founded the weekly newspaper *Katolikus Magyarok Vasárnapja* (*Sunday of the Hungarian Catholics*), which was published for nearly a century. He was exposed by Kálmán Kovács, the parish priest of McKeesport, after which he fled to St. Louis, where he worked as a butcher.
There is no information regarding the place or time of his death.
Károly Hollós, writing under the pseudonym, was a pastor and newspaper editor
