Biographical data
Her religious title was Mother of God. Her mother was Teréz Gáspár, who was from Székesfehérvár on her mother’s side, while her father’s family was from Várpalota-Inota. Her father, Antal Privler, was a merchant from Upper Hungary. He was born in 1913 as Antal Privler Jr., a name that was later changed to Perjés in the 1930s. He attended the Benedictine high school in Budapest. He entered the order in Győr in 1931. He took his perpetual vows in Keszthely in 1937. He was ordained a priest in Keszthely on July 3, 1938; he then attended the Carmelite missionary seminary in Rome from 1938 to 1939, after which he went to Iraq. In 1942, he was interned as a citizen of an Axis power. He returned to Hungary in 1948 but left for the United States shortly thereafter. His brother, Béla Perjés, was the former parish priest of Százhalombatta.
