Biographical data
His father was János Papp, and his mother was Anna Iváncsó. His wife was Anasztázia Volkay, who passed away in 1953; they had two children. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. He was ordained a priest on April 7, 1912, by Bishop Demeter Radu of Nagyvárad. He lived in the United States beginning in 1913. He served as dean of the Jersey City Deanery (1925–1931) and dean of the Chicago Deanery (1937–1938).
