His parents, Mátyás Nyeste and Mária, emigrated from Mezőkövesd; he was born in the United States. He had one brother, Mátyás. He was ordained a priest on December 17, 1949. He served as president of the Hungarian Historical Society of Cleveland. He died unexpectedly.
