Biographical data
His father was Bazil Minya, and his mother was Anna Lucskai. He pursued his theological studies in Budapest, Rome, and Uzhhorod. He received his doctorate in Rome in 1924. He was ordained a priest, remaining unmarried, on May 3, 1925, by Bishop Péter Gebé of Munkács. From 1932, he served as a papal chaplain; from 1938, as a councilor to the Holy See; from 1939, as an honorary canon; and from 1944, as a canon. He was one of the speakers at the 1938 Eucharistic Congress. In 1945, he fled from the Soviet authorities and became a Redemptorist monk in Canada. In 1965, he served as chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Passaic.
