Biographical data
His parents were Father Bazil Martyák and Katalin Janovits. He was the brother of Gábor and Miklós Martyák. He was a married pastor; his wife was Vilma Petrásovszky, and they had six children. He was ordained a priest in Uzhhorod on April 9, 1891. He lived in the United States from 1893 to 1901. He was the first priest of St. John the Baptist Hungarian Church in Hazelton and played a key role in the organization and growth of the Greek Catholic Church of Sts. Peter and Paul in Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania.
