Biographical data
His parents were Antal Mankovics, a priest, and Antónia Petrassovits; he had nine siblings. He was a widowed pastor; his wife, Ilona Nemessányi, passed away in Budapest in 1917. They had nine children. He completed his high school studies in Lőcse. He was ordained a priest on August 27, 1879. He served as a dean from 1886 to 1890. From 1903, he was a member of the Holy See, and in 1908, he served as deputy chief deacon of the diocese. His places of service in the United States can only be partially determined. The cause of his death was acute myocarditis.
