József Magyar SVD was a Verbite priest. He joined the order around 1938 and completed his studies at the order’s St. Gabriel mission house. During World War II, he worked in Hungary: from 1943 to 1946, together with Father János Rácz, SVD, he served as national secretary of the Society of the Holy Childhood of Jesus and visited parishes in Transylvania. In the postwar years, he also appeared in the Diocese of Szombathely as a temporary parish assistant. From 1949 to 1956, he lived in Chile, where he served as a Divine Word Missionary. His subsequent fate remains unclear for the time being.
