Biographical data
His father was Father Károly Komporday, and his mother was Rozália Salamon. He was a student at the Catholic high school in Uzhhorod. He continued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. He was ordained a priest while still unmarried on December 8, 1907, by Bishop Gyula Firczák of Munkács. During his studies, he was a founding member and assistant librarian of the School of Ecclesiastical Literature for seminarians, later becoming its secretary. From 1913, he served as a councilor to the Holy See.
