Biographical data
His parents were Lajos Koloszár and Mária Kirkovics; he had nine siblings. He completed his high school studies in Sopron. He entered the Benedictine community at Pannonhalma on August 6, 1914, and received the monastic name Patrik. He took his simple vows on April 7, 1918, after which he was sent to Innsbruck to continue his studies. He was dismissed from the Benedictine Order on December 17, 1920. He entered the Cistercian Order, where he was given the name Gilbert, but he left the order and was eventually ordained a priest of the Diocese of Veszprém on October 28, 1923.
According to the Veszprém sematism, he was suspended on May 10, 1948, because he left his last post in Hungary without permission and departed for the United States.
His grave is located at Green Acres Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bloomington, CA, USA.
