Biographical data

His parents were Péter Kostyu and Mária Barna. He arrived in the United States in 1966; no information survives regarding his life prior to that. He was a student at St. Cyril Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. He was ordained a priest on March 21, 1965, in Passaic, NJ, together with Ferenc Éles.
