Biographical data
His father was Antal Kecskés, a priest, and his mother was Anna Simonyi. His wife was Johanna Ilyásevics. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On July 11, 1875, he was ordained a priest by János Pásztélyi Kovács, Bishop of Munkács. He served in the United States from 1901 to 1906 and from 1907 to 1913. He served as dean of the Vásárhely deanery from 1885 to 1886, of the Sátoraljaújhely deanery from 1886 to 1893, and of the Dombó deanery from 1915 to 1917. He was a member of the Holy See Council from 1890. He retired in 1917.
