His father was Sándor Jaczkovics, a priest, and his mother was Mária Romzsa. He was an unmarried pastor. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On December 18, 1882, he was ordained a priest by János Pásztélyi-Kovács, Bishop of Munkács. He was the brother of Mihály Jackovics (not listed in the directory), who died in the Debrecen bomb attack. He resided in the United States between 1892 and 1898, returning home impoverished; he paid for his ship ticket by selling his pocket watch. In 1910, he was appointed honorary dean. He was murdered by Czech legionnaires; Mihály Mondy published an article titled “In Memory of a Priest Who Died a Martyr’s Death” about his death. The funeral was conducted by Sándor Sztojka, the bishop’s secretary; Gyula Grigássy, a theology professor; and the pastors Mihály Dutka of Nevicke and Viktor Choma of Alsónémeti.
