Biographical data
Kazimír Iványi, a Minorite friar, was born in 1906; sources differ regarding his place of birth, with both Győr and Resicabánya listed in his biographical records. He was ordained a priest in Arad on June 30, 1930. Between the two world wars, he served as a catechist, pastor, and religious superior in Lugos and Arad. In 1941, he moved to New York, then served in Hamilton and Welland among the Hungarian Catholic communities in Canada. Details of his later life are scarce, but according to his tombstone and U.S. death records, he remained in priestly ministry until his death. He passed away on September 21, 2002, in Tennessee; he is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in East Ridge.
