Biographical data
His father was János Hrabár, a priest, and his mother was Mária Kontratovics. His wife was Irma Danilovics, and they had six children. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On October 16, 1892, he was ordained a priest by Gyula Firczák, Bishop of Munkács. From 1893, he served in the United States, where the American Roman Catholic bishops—because he was a married pastor—constantly harassed him and revoked his license on several occasions. He returned home in 1912. From 1929, he served as a councilor to the Holy See. He retired in 1931.
