Biographical data
He was born in the United States but returned to Hungary at an early age.
He completed his theological studies in Budapest (1934–1940). He earned his doctorate from the Faculty of Theology at Pázmány Péter University (1941, moral theology).
He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Hajdúdorog by Auxiliary Bishop Miklós Dudás in Nyíregyháza on October 1, 1941.
His wife was Ilona Kovács; they had four children. He served as a bishop’s advisor from 1959 and as a cathedral canon from 1966. His grave is located in the Northern Cemetery in Nyíregyháza.
