Biographical data
Gimnáziumi tanulmányait az egri ciszterci gimnáziumban, a teológiát szintén Egerben végezte. 1909. június 21-én szentelték pappá. Az első világháborúban tábori lelkész volt, századosi rangban. 1921-ben ígéretet kapott a Szepesi Egyházmegyétől, hogy inkardinálják, de ez egyházjogi értelemben nem valósult meg. Jan Vojtassák szepesi püspökkel való vitája miatt 1925 és 1927 között felfüggesztették.
