Biographical data
Apja Artimovics Gábor görög katolikus pap, anyja Lakatos Julianna volt. A keleti katolikus hagyomány szerint nős papként szolgált; felesége Kallók Irén volt, akivel 1879. október 21-én kötött házasságot. Hét gyermekük született. Az egri Ciszterci Gimnázium növendéke 1870-ben, ahol 4 Ft 20 krajcár jutalmat kapott. Teológiai tanulmányait Ungvárott végezte. 1879. december 3-án szentelte pappá Kovács János munkácsi püspök. Az USA-ba 1904. február 5-én érkezett a Cuxhaven-ből indult Blucher nevű hajón. Amerikában Pennsylvania több görögkatolikus közösségében működött, köztük Jessupban, St. Clairben és Conemaughban. Utóbbi helyen parókusként szolgált haláláig. Az első amerikai magyar és ruszin görögkatolikus papi nemzedék tagjaként elsősorban a pennsylvaniai bevándorló bányászközösségek lelkipásztori ellátásában vett részt. Publicisztikai tevékenységet is folytatott; ismert írása „Az Isten nem bottal ver” címmel jelent meg a Hajnal című lapban 1908-ban.
